Dr. Kathryn “Katie” Roberson, PT, DPT

Owner/Physical Therapist

 

Dr. Katie Roberson is the Owner of Sunshine Pediatric Therapy. Dr. Katie graduated with her Bachelors degree in Psychology from the University of Georgia. She then completed her graduate studies at Georgia State University where she obtained her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree in 2011. Katie completed her DPT research in gross motor skill developmental play groups for young children with Down syndrome. She has always had a passion for working with children and knew that pediatrics was the area of Physical Therapy that she wanted to work in. Dr. Katie has been a PT for over ten years and has practiced in both the pediatric outpatient clinical setting as well as in the natural, home environment. She has worked with children from birth to twenty-one years of age with various abilities and diagnoses. Dr. Katie has extensive experience with orthotic management and adaptive equipment recommendations. She is versed in the use of Neuromuscular Electrical Stimulation, Myofascial Release, Neuro-Developmental Techniques and a variety of other PT modalities. In 2016, Dr. Katie and long time friend and fellow PT, Dr. Jaclyn Maxwell acquired Sunshine with the hopes of growing the business and servicing more families in the Atlanta area. Dr. Katie’s goal as a Physical Therapist is to help each child reach their highest potential in their home, school and community activities as it relates to movement, function and overall gross motor development. She is a licensed Physical Therapist in the state of Georgia and is an active member of the American Physical Therapy Association and APTA Georgia. Katie enjoys traveling with her husband, spending time with her dog, Sadie and cooking new recipes! 

 

 

Dr. Celia Riggins, PT, DPT

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Physical Therapist

 

Dr. Celia Riggins attended the University of Georgia and graduated with an Exercise Sport Science degree and a Disability Studies Certificate, hoping to expand and merge her knowledge and ability to advocate for people with disabilities with her love for physical activity. Dr. Celia graduated from Mercer University's physical therapy program in 2018 where she met her now husband, Mark. She has experience working with children of all types of abilities in schools, daycares, homes, aquatic and outpatient setting, which has helped make her adaptable to any work environment. Dr. Celia enjoys working with, and developing relationships with, children and families to maximize the child's abilities in all of his or her environments. Outside of work, she enjoys running, hiking, cuddling her cats, taking road trips, communing with her church family from Blueprint Church, and visiting family and friends in all places. She attributes her love for what she does to her family who has loved and supported her, and Dr. Celia desires to do the same for all families she has the joy of working alongside!

 

Dr. Megan Washburn, PT, DPT, PCS

 

Physical Therapist

 

Dr. Megan Washburn graduated from Georgia Tech in 2006 with a Bachelor’s degree in Management.  She graduated from Emory University with Doctor of Physical Therapy in 2009. Megan became a Board Certified Specialist in Pediatric Physical Therapy in 2016.  Megan has extensive experience with the pediatric population.  She joined Sunshine in 2020 and loves working with pediatric patients in their home settings.  She also has experience treating patients in the acute care, inpatient rehab, and outpatient robotics settings for many years at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. Megan enjoys teaching and has presented on pediatric physical therapy at conferences and served as a guest lecturer for physical therapy programs.  Megan really enjoys working with children and their families and collaborating on ways to meet their mobility goals. Outside of work, Megan enjoys reading, jogging, and spending time with her husband, Heath, and their three children.

 

Dr. Monique Query, PT, DPT, PCS

 

Physical Therapist

 

Dr. Monique Query graduated with her clinical doctorate in Physical Therapy from Northeastern University in Boston, MA in 2009.  Prior to relocating to Atlanta and working at Sunshine, Dr. Monique has worked with people across the life spectrum in multiple acute care hospitals in Boston, MA and Manchester, NH for over 12 years. She had the opportunity to complete a pediatric physical therapy residency at Boston Children's Hospital and subsequently acquired her Board Certification as a Pediatric Clinical Specialist in Physical Therapy from the ABPTS. In the past 5 years she has focused on continuing to build her skills in outpatient pediatric clinic settings following experience in the NICU and acute hospital setting.  Dr. Monique's work experience includes teaching the next generation of PTs as a teaching assistant and adjunct professor in graduate pediatric physical therapy courses, as well as a clinical instructor in the acute care and outpatient settings.  Dr. Monique has a passion for working with children and their caregivers to empower through education and training in their natural environment. When she is not working, Monique enjoys road biking, cooking, languages, museums, travel, strength training, and playing with her nieces and nephews.  She looks forward to meeting your family, and discovering together how to help your loved one thrive through movement!

 

Dr. Camille Rollins, PT, DPT

 

Physical Therapist

 

Dr. Camille Rollins graduated from Clemson University with a bachelors degree in Food Science & Human Nutrition. She received a Masters degree in Applied Physiology at the University of South Carolina and continued on to Elon University, where she earned her Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2015. She has always had a love for children and knew early on in her collegiate career that pediatrics was her passion. Dr. Camille has pediatric experience in multiple  settings including inpatient, NICU, post-surgical rehab and outpatient settings. She has treated a wide variety of neurological and genetic disorders, in addition to Torticollis and developmental delays. Her favorite part of her job as a PT is the connections and relationships built with her patients and their families. When not working, Dr. Camille loves spending time with her friends and family, cooking, running and especially playing with her little boy, Drew

 

Dr. Sarah Wessel, PT, DPT

Physical Therapist 

Sarah graduated from Armstrong State University (now Georgia Southern University-Armstrong) in 2016 with her bachelors in Rehabilitation Sciences and a minor in Neuroscience. Immediately following, she attended Mercer University where she received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2019. Sarah has experience working with children beginning in the home and clinic space, transitioning to full-time in the clinic upon moving to Charlotte in 2020. Sarah enjoys working with children of all ages and abilities, having taken courses in management of infants with torticollis, children with Cerebral Palsy, and implementing strategies for children with CVI. She is excited to have returned to the Atlanta area and be serving children in their natural environment with such a wonderful team! Outside of work, Sarah and her husband, Kenny, enjoy spending time with family and friends exploring the Atlanta area, volunteering with their church, and cuddling with their lab mix, Georgia.

Kelly Wiley, MS, OTR/L
Occupational Therapist

Kelly graduated from Brenau University in 2012 with a Master of Science in Occupational Therapy. Prior to that she received a Bachelor in Health and Human Science in Exercise Science degree from Georgia State University in 2008. She has spent her entire career as an occupational therapist working in pediatrics. Kelly is registered by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy and she holds a license in Georgia. Kelly has worked in various settings, including clinical, private, and school-based settings, assisting parents, teachers, and caregivers to maximize success and independence in childhood occupations. She specializes in promoting fine motor development, pre-handwriting/handwriting skills, visual motor skills, sensory differences, and play/social skills. Kelly is SIPT (Sensory Integration and Praxis Test) certified therapist, who specializes in sensory processing disorders. She is also an AutPlay provider, focusing on development through play. She also has training and continuing education in areas of pre-handwriting, handwriting, keyboarding, executive functioning, and diagnoses such as ADHD, ASD, learning differences, and physical and developmental disabilities. In her free time, Kelly enjoys spending time with her husband, children, and doodles. She enjoys being outside walking and gardening. She has a passion for helping children overcome challenges and develop the skills necessary to engage in meaningful activities to achieve their full potential.

Catherine Link, MS, OTR/L

 

Occupational Therapist


Catherine graduated from Brenau University in 2012 with a Master of Science in Occupational Therapy.  Prior to that, she received a Bachelor of Science in Science, Technology, and Culture from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 2004.  She is certified in physical agent modalities.  Catherine works in pediatrics with SPT and in neurological injury/illness with Shepherd Center, both since 2012.  She finds that working in both areas helps her to be a more thoughtful, well-rounded therapist in each.  She has worked with a variety of diagnoses since beginning with Sunshine, including cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, autism spectrum disorder, mitochondrial disease, Angelman syndrome, arthrogryposis, osteogenesis imperfecta type III, polymicrogyria, congenital heart disease, DiGeorge syndrome, torticollis, kidney disease, and general developmental delay, among others.  Catherine has always, always, always loved working with children and brings a light-hearted and fun approach to every session.  She knows that family members are an essential part of a child's success and includes them as often as possible.  Outside of work, Catherineloves to run-draw via GPS and her Nike Run app, sleep as often as possible, art, and spend time with family and friends.  

Layla Denny, MS,OTR/L

Occupational Therapist

A native of Atlanta, Layla received a Bachelor of Science from Georgia Tech before earning an MS in Occupational Therapy at the University of Alabama, Birmingham in 2001. She has over 20 years of experience in pediatrics and has worked in a variety of settings including inpatient acute care, school system, early intervention, and outpatient clinics. Layla has extensive training in sensory integration theory and praxis, feeding, and emotional regulation, and strives to help children develop and connect with families through play. 

Emily Godshall, MS, OTR/L

Occupational Therapist

Emily graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from University of Dayton in 2014. Prior to completing her OT degree, Emily worked at a private school for children with developmental and neurological disorders where she provided 1:1, evaluator and in-home behavioral support. Emily completed her Master of Occupational Therapy degree in 2020 at University of Alabama Birmingham. Prior to working at Sunshine, Emily has worked in settings including acute care, outpatient pediatric neuro rehabilitation unit and inpatient neuro rehabilitation specializing in services for clients with acquired brain injuries. Emily has a strong passion and commitment to helping clients of all ages, medical conditions and/or circumstances to reach their fullest potential. Emily approaches each child with client-centered care and creates a meaningful, collaborative approach by working closely with families and caregivers.

Sarah Fain, MOT, OTR/L

 

Occupational Therapist

Sarah graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biology from University of Minnesota in 2003 and completed her Master of Occupational Therapy degree in 2006 at University of Washington. Prior to working at Sunshine, Sarah has worked as a pediatric occupational therapist in an outpatient hospital setting for over 14 years and has experience working in a private, community based pediatric outpatient clinic. While working in the hospital, Sarah had the opportunity to complete a pilot research study of an intensive occupational therapy program for children with sensory processing delays and work as a lead therapist in the Cardiac Neurodevelopment Clinic. Sarah’s work experience includes teaching as a clinical instructor to occupational therapy fieldwork students. Sarah has always had a passion for working with children and their families and finds great joy helping children grow and thrive in everyday life. Outside of work, Sarah enjoys reading, baking, running, hiking and spending time with her husband and son. 

Sabrina Grigsby

 

 

Office & Billing Manager

With over 20 years of experience in allied health customer service and claims management, Sabrina graciously joined the Sunshine family in 2018 to share her knowledge as a billing & claims expert, family-therapist liason, and scheduler extraordinaire. Sabrina is an excellent advocate for our beloved Sunshine families and her passionate attention to detail is integral to the interworkings of Sunshine. One of our families stated "I just have to tell you how incredible Sabrina is. You know how many different offices I work with and no one has it together like her!" Don't we know it! Sabrina loves spending time with her family, especially her two beautiful granddaughters. We are honored to work with a true team player.
